Jay was a wonderful neighbor. Last summer, having noticed that my room mate was struggling with trying to mow the back yard with a regular, gas-powered push mower, he offered to mow the entire nearly 5 acres with his newly-purchased Brushmaster. Both my room mate and I were thrilled to be able to take him up on his offer. When he wasn’t able to finish the job on the first day, he actually messaged me with an apology. Obviously, the apology was not necessary, but it was incredibly thoughtful. He finished up the job a couple of days later, after he figured out how to adjust his new toy. He never asked to be paid. He never even asked for a thank you. His kindness touched my heart, and I will never forget the sweet, quiet, gentle man who lived just down the street. 

Amanda, I send my most sincere sympathies, and an offer of friendship. If you ever want to talk with someone who has been there, or if you need someone to run errands, please feel free to call on me. My room mate also offers her services if you need someone to run the vacuum, or to help with anything else that is beyond my physical capabilities. My phone number is in the card that I sent to you, or feel free to stop by and knock. I can’t make it hurt any less, but I’m a good listener, with an available shoulder, should you desire a sympathetic soul with whom to share your grief, or your fond memories. *big hugs*.
