Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 10:00 am at Memorial Park Cemetery for family and friends.
Doris was born on October 15, 1926 in Jefferson City, MO the daughter of Erben John and Cornelia (Wiegle) Scheidt who preceded her in death. She was married on December 2, 1950 in Jefferson City, MO to Edward Lee Hampton Jr who preceded her in death on May 24, 2011.
Doris graduated from Benedictine College in Atchison, KS with a Bachelor degree in Spanish. She volunteered as a Cub Scout leader for several years. Doris served on the Board of Directors of the Southwest Swim Club as the secretary. After raising her children, she worked for the Columbia Public Schools in the main library for 25 years. Doris was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic church. She enjoyed feeding and watching the birds and squirrels in her backyard.
Survivors include: two children, Edward Hampton III (Barbara) of Oshkosh, WI and Mary Flowers of Columbia, MO; three grandchildren, Travis Flowers, Kimberly Darby and Justin Hampton and one great-grandson, Cody Darby. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Richard Scheidt and two sisters, Elaine Lehr and Virginia Schrimpf.
