Dorothy Christine Strode Aycock

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at 11:00 AM in Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby with Reverend Dick Reese officiating. Mrs. Aycock’s grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Burial will follow in Parkhill Cemetery. Family will greet and visit with friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Respite Care of St. Luke United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 867, Columbus, GA 31902.

Dorothy Christine Strode Aycock was born on July 5, 1931 in Dallas, Texas to the late Alice Christine McMenamy Strode and Lester Owen Strode. She was married to the late Carl Newman Aycock. She was a faithful long time member of St. Luke United Methodist Church where she volunteered with several organizations to include: Meals on Wheels, Circle Group #3 and Respite Care Group. Mrs. Aycock will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children: Carl Wayne Aycock (Linda), Lee Ann Brent (Bobby), and Chuck Aycock (Cindee); her grandchildren: Christopher Carl Aycock (Jenny), Robert “Bobby” Brent III, Gail DeChantal Johnston (Todd), Rebecca “Becky” Brent, Chad Aycock, and Cory Aycock; her great grandchildren: Nolan Aycock and Kal Brent; her sisters, Frances Pursur and Joyce Ratteree (Don); and numerous other family members to be included.
