

Jerry Joseph Wisz, age 75, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 6, 2021. He is survived by his sister, June (Larry) Huber; brothers, Jim (Michelle) Wisz and Jeff (Stephanie) Wisz; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Olga (nee Kukula) Wisz; his father, Adam Wisz; and his best friend and sister, Jacie Wisz.
Jerry was born August 19, 1946, in Gary, IN to the late Adam and Olga Wisz, and was a 1964 graduate of Lew Wallace High School. He worked as a crane man for Bethlehem Steel from 1963 to 1965 before he was granted a military leave of absence to proudly serve our country in the US Army from 1965-1968. Jerry returned to his job with Bethlehem Steel as an overhead crane operator, retiring after 23 years of
dedicated service.
In addition to being an enthusiastic collector of time pieces and swords, among other things, Jerry enjoyed wood and leather work, continuing his education and earning various certifications along the way, and taking up numerous hobbies.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021 from 11:00 AM - 1:45 PM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue Crown Point, IN, followed by graveside Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels Northwest Indiana.
