Diane grew up in St. Clair Shores, Michigan, graduating in 1962 from St. Gertrude high school.
Diane worked at Ex-cello Corporation and Textron, rising to the position of Director. She was the first female Director in her division of Textron.
She retired to the river with her husband Michael McNeil. They were avid boaters and travelers, and could be counted on for one helluva a party in December.
Diane was the meaning of fun. Through an unbelievably painful and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer she never once lost her sense of humor.
She was always adventurous, she was forever mischievous, and believed the only way to properly breathe was to laugh.
Diane is survived by her adoring husband, Mike McNeil, her devoted daughters Colleen Affeldt and Erin Bliss and her husband Brandon, and grandsons Isaiah and Sam, step-sons Brian and Kevin McNeil and their families. Diane is also survived by her 94-year-old Mother Patricia Francis, brothers, Jim and Dave Francis, and sister Patricia McKendrick, as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank Faith Hospice and Visiting Angels for their support and care.
Funeral Mass celebrating Diane’s life will be Thursday August 23rd at 11am at Prince of Peace Catholic Church 5100 West Plano Parkway, Plano, Texas.
The family will accept visitors on Wednesday evening at 6pm with a recitation of the rosary at 7:30pm at Ted Dickey West Funeral Home 8011 Frankford Road Dallas Texas.
In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests you make a donation to Diane’s page of hope in fighting pancreatic cancer at:
