He was born on September 28, 1946 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Robert Wayne Rainwater and Ruth Meshell.
Wayne graduated from DeQuincy High School in 1964 and soon after enlisted in the United States Air Force where he distinguished himself as a senior airman and gained the respect of the unit officers to which he was assigned. After his service was complete he returned home and married Delores Marie Statum.
Over the next several years the Rainwater family grew to include 4 sons; Wayne Jr., Willie Robert, Harold Edward, and Chad Vance.
For decades Mr. Rainwater held many occupations that served to support his family. He was a very skilled iron worker and craftsman.
He was preceded in death by his son Harold, his beloved wife Marie and two sisters, Rachel Langton and Susie Rainwater.
He is survived by three sons Wayne Rainwater, Jr., Willie Rainwater, and Chad Rainwater. Wayne felt blessed to welcome 15 grandchildren into his life. Family was an immense pleasure to his years.
He is also survived by five siblings, three brothers Randy Rainwater, Jesse Rainwater, Terry Dick, and two sisters Judy Jackson and Bobbye Simmons.
A private burial will be held at a later date in Perkins cemetery. Services have been entrusted to Hixson-Snider Funeral Home in DeQuincy.
