On September 29, 2010, Lynn S. Pascal, age 56 of Chaumont, New York, passed peacefully after a battle with cancer. Lynn was a wonderful wife, mother, sister and aunt who brought joy, comfort and happiness to those around her. She was a compassionate person who enjoyed reading, gardening, baking, canning preserves and vegetables and simple pleasures of walking the fields and pastures of rural New York. Spending time with Lynn was as easy as breathing and so enjoyable that others sought refuge in her company. She will be profoundly missed by her family and others who knew and loved her.
Born in 1954 in Ft. Ord, California, Lynn lived most of her life in Glastonbury, Connecticut, attending Glastonbury public schools and graduating from Regis College in Weston, Massachusetts in 1976. She worked for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in Middletown and East Hartford, Connecticut for nearly three decades, before her diagnosis of an inoperable brain tumor in February, 2008.
Lynn is survived by her loving husband, Richard S. Pascal, 60, and her daughters Sarah, 21, and Julie, 18; by her sisters Jan S. Gaudette and Leigh S. Petras, of Glastonbury, and brothers David C. Smith of Arlington, Virginia and Douglas C. Smith of Wilmington, New York, and many loving in-laws, nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late Clark and Mary (nee Campbell) Smith, of Glastonbury and Watertown, New York.
Calling hours will be held at Glastonbury Funeral Home Wednesday, October 13, between the hours of 4 and 6 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Lyme Community Foundation, P.O.
