Annesley O. Whelpdale passed away on September 21, 2020, at Del Sol Medical Center, in El Paso Tx. He is currently under the care of the Funeraria Del Angel - (the recent Martin Funeral Home) Central.
Annesley was born in Ajmer, India. As a proud immigrant to the United States, he traveled from the far side of the globe on September 6, 1966, to begin life here in El Paso Texas, where he resided for the remainder of his years. He will be remembered for his quiet, gentle and easygoing demeanor and for his love of life’s simpler indulgences as in reading, or listening to his favorite vinyl albums on an actual turntable, sweet classical melodies of Connie Frances, streaming throughout the house.
He was a natural teacher and most of his career life was dedicated to the betterment of children’s futures. He taught in Private Education in El Paso for many years developing students’ understanding of the structure of mathematics, as well as the daunting task of educating children on the use of proper English Grammar. Many more years were devoted as a teaching instructor inspiring young and creative minds at the David L. Carrasco Job Corps Center. Countless students fondly recounted stories of his patience and reinforcement for their success as they strived to secure a better future. He gave fully of himself in providing these young adults with the opportunity to grow, and in advocating positive opportunities for their betterment.
He appreciated simple pleasures connected to the outdoors, reveling in long hikes hand in hand with grandchildren amid the desert flowers on our local Franklin mountains, or on weekend campouts amongst the cooler elevations of New Mexico. He enjoyed the solitude of being the ever patient fisherman silently awaiting a tug on his fishing line. Most of his cherished heartfelt moments would be reflections of weekend trips with family. His love of nature, flowers, birds, and vistas provoked many a weekend jaunt up to the New Mexico foothills, amid the quaint colorful towns of Cloudcroft and Ruidoso, where the fresh air, the scenery, and the fragrance of the Ponderosa Pines provided relaxed family outings, granting this self made photographer candid shots of flora, landscapes, giggly muddy grandchildren and comical camping mishaps, allowing him to freeze these moments in time with the quick click of his Nikon, images now forever recorded in time should they never be forgotten.
Annesley has now, in death, rejoined his loving wife Ivy Whelpdale and his precious daughter Althea Leonora Whelpdale. He left behind a footprint of family as a Father, a Stepfather, a Grandfather, and a Brother. He lovingly cherished and raised his daughter Althea and after her passing, he then adoringly raised his precious grandson in her memory. He is survived by his sons, Devon Whelpdale and Warren Connelly, and his daughter Valerie Deja. He leaves behind his brother Morran Whelpdale, and his sisters Yolande Surrao, June Fernandez, Eileen Gross, and Ellouise Whelpdale Skjonsberg. He was a cherished Grandpa to 7 grandchildren, and will be fondly remembered by countless nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.

Please see the following message from the family:
"Due to the pandemic, we are forced to postpone services to a later date".
If the pandemic emergency restrictions continue, with clergy attendance bans, and cemetery restrictions, the family will eventually proceed with a small private service. We are heartbroken over the current COVID circumstances and it's continued impact, but health concerns must remain a priority.
We continue to hope that at some time in the future, we may be able to safely pay tribute together in fellowship and provide him the honor of reflecting upon his life.
