Joyce Darlene Wall, 81, of Evansville, IN passed away Saturday, August 3, 2019, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital. She was born on May 30, 1938, in Evansville, IN to the late Edgar R. and Irene (Cole) Hopper.
Joyce retired from St. Mary’s Hospital after 23 years of service. She was a member of Vann Avenue Baptist Church. Joyce was a member of VFW #2953, American Legion 265 and had been the Auditor of the Ladies Auxiliary. She loved the river and Ellis Park, where she watched the horses run. Joyce was an avid reader, and enjoyed crocheting and playing Solitaire. She adored her family and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, King Edward Wall, II; daughter, Rebecca R. Hayden; and brothers, George, John, and Bub Hopper.
She is survived by her daughters, Victoria Ashby, Deborah Johnson, and Melissa Wall all of Evansville; sons, King Edward Wall III (Gayla) of Tennyson and Edgar R. Wall of Evansville; step-daughters, Pam Monroe, Judy Kirby, Trudy Weiss, and Karen Robbins; 11 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and one step-great grandchild; brother, Gene Hopper of Colorado; cousins; nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 7, 2019, at Alexander East Chapel, with burial in Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit on Tuesday, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at funeral home.
