William Lowell Parkin

William L. Parkin, age 91, of Fairfax, VA passed away peacefully at his home on September 24, 2015. He is the beloved father of Cindi Barton, Stephanie Caceres (Rick), Susan Robbins and Stacy Jared (Drew); Loving grandfather of Breanna Barton, Zachary Caceres, Jared Robbins, Joel Robbins and Kaisha Roberts. Also survived by four great grandchildren. He was the son of the late William and Pearl Parkin of Fairfield, Iowa. Born in the Midwest, his was a 20th century by-the-bootstraps American story. In his early years he served in the Navy, sold aluminum siding, was employed at Collins Radio, had many entrepreneurial ventures, was a tough negotiator for the Department of the Navy and finally moved into private consulting. In his free time Bill loved to sing, dance, read, and took his last ski trip when 80 years old. Bill was an active member in Clifton Presbyterian Church and Unity of Fairfax. A service to celebrate Bill’s life will be held Friday, October 23 at 3:00 at the Clifton Presbyterian Church, 12748 Richards Lane, Clifton, VA.
