Nora E. Ward

Nora was born in East St. Louis, Illinois on December 12, 1941, to Albert and Cassie Bodendieck (Denbow).

Nora married the love of her life, Rex L. Ward on October 7, 1960. They were married for 52 years. Being a loving and supportive wife to Rex and nurturing their four children was of great importance to her.

She adored her entire family, and her home was always open to anyone in need.

Affectionately known as “Jeannie”, she definitely knew her way around the kitchen, always preparing meals for family and friends.

Jeannie enjoyed a lot of things in life, mostly family get togethers, crafting, and any chance she could get on a lake or close to the ocean.

Jeannie is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Cassie Bodendieck; her husband, Rex Ward; her daughter, Linda Ward; and two siblings, Margie Kish and Robert “Bob” Bodendieck.

Jeannie is survived by her sons, Mark (Bonnie) Ward of Washington, Indiana, Matt (Kim) Ward of Springfield, Illinois, and David (Angela) Ward of Washington, Indiana; (11) grandchildren; (18) great-grandchildren; brothers, Jim (Pat) Bodendieck, Jerry (Fay) Bodendieck, Randy (Laura Lundy) Bodendieck of Independence, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Jeannie will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025, from 10:00am – 1:00pm at Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 N Illinois Street, Fairview Heights, Illinois 62208.

The funeral service for Jeannie will begin at 1:00pm at Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 N Illinois Street, Fairview Heights, Illinois, immediately followed by the committal at Lake View Memorial Gardens.
