Maria Sylvestra Guzman Morante

On Saturday, February 20, 2021 our loving mother, Maria Sylvestra G. Morante passed away at a Hebbronville Nursing Home at the age of 88. She was born on November 26, 1932 in Hebbronville, Texas to Jose Maria Guzman and Juanita Castaneda.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Gregorio Gutierrez and Alejandro Morante; daughter, Beatriz G. Moreno; brother, Henry Leal.

Maria leaves behind many fond memories that will be treasured by her children, Alfredo Gutierrez of Hebbronville, Amalia (Fernando) Herrera of Hebbronville, Gregorio Gutierrez Jr. of Hebbronville, Gloria Zambrano of Kingsville, Lucy (Meme) Perez of Hebbronville, Jose Luis Gutierrez of Hebbronville, Juan Manuel Gutierrez of Hebbronville, Roberto (Letti) Gutierrez of Hebbronville, Carlos Gutierrez of San Diego, David Gutierrez of Hebbronville and Alejandro (Sara) Morante Jr. of Hebbronville; siblings, Ramona G. Ramon, Gilberto Guzman, Hilda M. Garza and San Juanita Hernandez all of Hebbronville; twenty four grandchildren and forty two great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be celebrated on Friday, February 26, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Howard-Williams Chapel in Hebbronville with burial to follow at the New Hebbronville Cemetery.
