Albina Rojas de Jaimes, 80 years of age, passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2019 surrounded by her family in Fairfax, Virginia. Albina was born and raised in Cochabamba, Bolivia on June 4, 1939, and she spent her life committed to her family.
She met her husband, Carlos Jaimes, through mutual friends when they were young adults and instantly became inseparable. After 62 years of marriage, Albina and Carlos built their own traditions, daily routines, and truly embraced the vows they exchanged.
Albina was a young entrepreneur, managing a retail store in her home country. She decided to change her daily life to become the epitome of a perfect stay at home mother for her children, and later on a devoted grandmother to her grandchildren. Not only was she well known for her amazing cooking and sewing skills, but she was also the first person people would run to for advice. Her wise words, life experience, witty humor, and unconditional love for everyone was both admirable and inspiring.
Albina is survived by her loving husband, Carlos, her 5 loyal daughters, 10 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will include some of her grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 22, 2019 from 6pm-10pm at the National Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2019 from 11am-12pm with Father Hoyos leading a Catholic mass at the Cathedral of St. Thomas More. The burial will follow, on this same day, at the National Memorial Park at 3pm.
