RANDALL "RANDY" D. TROUT, 74, of Fort Wayne, passed away Wednesday Oct. 13, 2021, at Lutheran Hospital. Born on Aug. 4, 1947 in Columbia City, Ind., he was a son of the late Gail and Ruby (Shaffer) Trout. He enlisted in the United States Navy after high school and served his country overseas during the Vietnam War, earning a campaign medal for his combat service. After returning from active duty, he met and married Cheryl A. Lenhart on Aug. 23, 1969, in Fort Wayne. He earned an associate degree from Indiana University as well as his journeyman mechanic credentials and spent his career working as a diesel mechanic at North American Van Lines/Fleet Service. He enjoyed being outside either hunting, fishing or just watching the birds. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, and was fortunate to have spent much of the past summer with his kids and grandchildren. He was a lifelong member of the American Legion. Randy is survived by his beloved wife, Cheryl, of Fort Wayne; two children, Chad (Barb) Trout of Pennsylvania Furnace, Pa., and Krista (Ivan) Trout-Edwards of Battle Creek, Mich.; three cherished grandchildren, Seth, Jonah, and Carys; his sister, Judy (David) Richards of South Whitley, Ind.; as well as his adored dog, Gigi, and a well-trained cat, Pepper. Randy was also preceded in death by his brother, Stanley J. Trout. Funeral Service is 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2020, at Greenlawn Memorial Park Funeral Home, Fort Wayne, Ind., with visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Rev Kenneth Stirratt officiating.
