Beverly Jean Hicks

Beverly was born in Madera, California to Floyd and Blanche Denney on November 30, 1927, and passed away in Fresno, California on Saturday, May 30, 2015. She grew up in Madera with her parents and two brothers, Ronald and Delbert.

In 1948, she met her future husband, Herbert Bert Hicks. They married in 1950 and raised their four children in Fresno. Bev was a devoted wife and mother. When her children were of school age, Bev went to work as a secretary at World Book and retired as office manager after 19 years. During their retirement years, Bert and Bev liked to travel, and spend time with their children and grandchildren, friends and family.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Constance, her brothers Delbert and Ronald, and in 1993, by Bert, her husband of 43 years.

She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl, Patty, and Sandy Hicks, her son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Marlene Hicks, and grandsons David and Daniel Hicks.

A special “thank you” is extended to the wonderful staff at the Renaissance House, an elderly residential care facility where Beverly was residing.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, remembrances be sent to either the Renaissance House, 6572 N. Mariposa, Fresno, Californaia 93710 or to the donor’s favorite charity.
