

Cecil was a kind and hardworking man whose greatest joy came from spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, loving heart, and the example he set for those around him throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his father, Milburn Hicks; his mother, Lula Ruth Kelsoe; his brother, James Orville Hicks (Sarah); his son, James Ray Hicks; and his daughter, Connie Hicks Chambers.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Frances M. Hicks; his children, Phyllis (Tommy) Cash, Jeff Hicks, and David (Connie) Hicks; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Cecil Hicks will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at Collier-Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Matt Rose officiating. Burial will follow at New Bethel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, and honorary pallbearers will be his great-grandchildren.
