He graduated from Hempfield High School and enlisted in the Army as Military Police. He served all over the world: Alabama, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Colorado, Germany, Korea and The Netherlands to include serving in Operation Desert Storm in 1992. Upon retiring from the Army, he entered the civilian world working almost 20 years with Wackenhut and G4S. He held a number of key positions including Sr. Area Supervisor, Manager, Physical Security in Denver, Branch Manager- Wyoming & South Dakota, WER Regional Manager, Field Support and General Manager- Missouri. After his time at G4S Andy was a Federal Security Manager for FEMA where he worked up until his passing.
Anyone who knew Andy knew without a doubt he bled “black and gold” an avid Steelers, Penguins and yes Pirates faithful. Andy was a member of ASIS, Casper Elks, and life member of Greensburg VFW Post 33. While stationed in the Netherlands Andy was assistant and then head coach for the AFCENT High School Wrestling Team “Pain is Temporary; Pride is Forever”. He continued to officiate wrestling whilst stationed at Fort Carson, CO.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Rene (Stow). In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his siblings, John and his wife Connie, Karl and his wife Carmen, Susan and niece Anne and her husband Sam. Mother-in-Law Tame “Yuri” and Sister-in-Law Libby and her husband Ben.
