Philip James Hewes, 37, of Glastonbury, lost his battle with bipolar disorder and depression on September 8, 2018. Born in Middletown, CT on April 25, 1981 to Mary Lou (Moiger) and John Hewes, he was the eldest of three. Phil grew up in Ashford and attended E.O. Smith high school in Storrs. After graduating Phil attended UCONN and Central Connecticut State University. His most recent job was at Home Depot in Bloomfield, where he was a department supervisor.
We will always remember the wonderful qualities that Phil had- his quick wit, quirky sense of humor, and his gentle nature. Phil had an extremely creative mind. He was an avid reader and loved to draw, paint, and write. Phil is predeceased by his father John Bulkley Hewes, his grandparents Thomas and Barbara Hummel and Peter and Edna Hewes, his uncle Samuel Hewes, his aunt Gayle Thody, and his cousin Christopher Thody.
His story will live on by those he leaves behind, who will miss him very much; His mother Mary Lou Moiger and his stepfather Richard Moiger. His sister Karen Hewes and her husband Michael Conlon and their daughter Samantha Conlon of Goffstown, NH. His brother Steven Hewes of Denver, CO. He also leaves behind aunts, uncles and cousins.
