She was born in Troy, New York on July 19, 1933 to the late Stephen and Eva (Pawlikoski) Fushak.
Doris graduated from Watervliet High School, in Watervliet, New York and went on to work for the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Soon, she met the love of her life, Colonel (Ret) Wesley C. Stidnick, Jr. and they were married on April 8, 1956. Doris took great pride and joy in being a military wife and they traveled the world together as Wesley served in the United States Air Force as a Command Fighter Pilot. In her free time, she enjoyed reading and spending time on the beach with her family. They spent 53 wonderful years together before Wesley passed away in 2009.
Doris is preceded in death by her dear parents; her husband, Colonel (Ret) Wesley C. Stidnick Jr.; her son, David M. Stidnick; grandson, Tristan M. Stidnick and aunts, Helen Javers (Charlie) and Christine Petregal (Andrew).
Doris is survived by her daughter, Lori Montgomery and Lori's husband, Richard; granddaughter, Roxanne Montgomery and son Logan Wesley: grandsons, Matthew Stidnick and Christopher Montgomery.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018 from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm, with a service to begin at 3:00 pm. Reception will be held following the service at the Montgomery family home.
Doris will be reunited with Wesley at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
