

We are saddened to announce that Dr. Theodore Klock Chamberlain; retired oceanography /geology professor from the Department of Geosciences at Colorado State University, passed away September 24, 2014, after a long illness. Dr. Chamberlain, a renowned oceanographer and a geologist, spent years in oceanic research around the world and at the Chesapeake Bay at Johns Hopkins University. He served Colorado State University and the Department of Geosciences for more than 38 years - teaching two of the largest undergraduate courses on campus.
Dr. Chamberlain loved teaching and inspired thousands of students into higher education, explorations and the advancement of knowledge. He was a scholar, a poet and a philosopher, and he left a wealth of publications and writings.
While a light on oceanography education has dimmed with Dr. Chamberlain's passing, his legacy will continue to light the paths of future students.
Dr. Chamberlain is survived by the loving family of his wife Farida, and their two sons, William and Alfred, as well as his daughters, Diana and Heather and his sons Bruce, Makoto, Satoru and Tor.
Memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 30th, 2014 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the family’s residence, Wanstead Farm, 4004 North County Road 13, Fort Collins, Colorado.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Theodore Chamberlain’s Endowed Scholarship Fund are encouraged; (see below for details)
