Lorene Rose Smith, 86, passed away on Friday, October 21, 2011, at Wesley Long Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Monday, 12:00 noon at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel with Reverend Russ Reeves officiating. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park.
Lorene was born on October 20, 1925, in Graham Co., NC, the daughter of John B. and Sarah Wright Rose. She was devoted wife and mother, always placing her family first. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church from the time she came to Greensboro and loved her church.
Lorene was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister. Those left to cherish her memory are her four sons; Michael Ray Smith of Greensboro, NC, Alan Dale Smith and wife Robin of Archdale, NC, Rodney Brian Smith and wife Jody of Palm Harbor, FL and Mark James Smith of Greensboro, NC; sisters, Blanche Bradshaw of Stecoah, NC, Icie Strother of Raleigh, NC, and Faye Crisp of Robbinsville, NC; two grandsons, Mathew Smith and Rodney Smith, Jr.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel.
