Douglas McArthur Sheriff

Douglas McArthur Sheriff died July 25, 2018. He was born in Pickens County on September 17, 1942 a son of the late Julius Harrison Sheriff and Annie Mae Hinton. Before his retirement he was with Bigelow-Sanford and Mohawk Industries in carpet technical support.

He is survived by his children Debra Stephens (Glenn Rochester); Kim Gray (Andrew) Allison Sheriff (Travis Williams); grandchildren Skyler N. Stephens and Jonathan A. Gray II; a sister Mattie Bolick and brothers Prue (Nancy), John (Sue), and Edd; and Kathy Sheriff White a treasured friend and mother of Kim and Allison.

After the death of his mother at a very young age, he went to live at Connie Maxwell Children’s Home in Greenwood, SC where memorials can be made by mailing to P.O. 1178, Greenwood, SC 29648-1178.

Services will be held Sunday, July 29th at 3:30 in The Mackey Mortuary Chapel at 311 Century Drive with the Reverend Dr. David Gallimore officiating. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service.
