I miss you so much Nanny everyday. I can't wait until the day I get to see you again! Thank you so much for all the sacrifices you made and the Love you gave to all of us💖 There will never be a day that goes by that I don't think of you and miss you so much!

The circle is complete now! All the original Redding children and their parents are home. I know there’s a happy reunion in progress. I’m sure our Lord has already said to Aunt Dennie, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” She was a wonderful example of a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She loved and took care of everyone around her. Elaine, I know the grief of separation from those we love. Praying for God’s peace for you.

I have many wonderful memories spent at Aunt Dennie’s house where there was warmth, welcome, love, a chance to see other aunts snd uncles and my cousins, and there was always good food❤️ I always went to see Aunt Dennie when we were in the  U.S. on furlough from Taiwan . Several times she had these very tasty cookies! I would carry on about how good they were and she just humbly said there wasn’t much to them. One time I asked if she could tell me how to make them and she started telling me while I wrote quickly. I said, “They are GOOD cookies what do you call them? “ She said ,” they are good cookies”. I was thinking she didn’t catch what I said and just agreed with me. So I said, “yes they ARE good cookies” but what are they called, “ good cookies , she said! We went back and  forth and finally I said , “Aunt Dennie I mean what is their name so I can title my recipe!” She said,” Elinda I’ve been trying to tell you I call them Good Cookies!” We had such a laugh over that while we had another Good Cookie. This discussion took place Dec 1999 when Aunt Dennie was 80.  I also want to share again my sweetest memory as I shared in the Cousin Group Text. In these later years when Aunt Dennie didn’t really know me anymore she still smiled sweetly when I visited in the Nursing Home. She said she was “fine “when I asked. Then she said ,” God is with me”. She never said it just once she kept saying it with a sweet smile! I was and am still so profoundly touched by that testimony of that thought she held onto when other memories had slipped. I have prayed to the Lord to allow me to not only hold onto the knowledge of his presence with me until I leave this life but be comforted by that and help me to tell others that “ God is with me”. I believe Aunt Dennie was certain of that as we all should be.  If not  please learn how to be certain ❤️🙏.  Elaine and family what a blessing to have your mother to 101 years . We were blessed by her too and will miss her!  Our love and prayers.

Aunt Dennie had the kindest soul, She was a quiet spirit but had a dry wit that would come out ! I spent many of my summers growing up with my cousins in Booneville! All of us girls had a grand time and I flitted between the Tidwell and the Davis homes.! Aunt Dennie and her MilkyWay Chocolate Cake and her Apple Pan Pie and just great times in the kitchen watching her and Ma cooking! Those smells still ring in your mind and conversations of old times! What a blessing she was ! “Precious Memories how they linger, how they ever flood my soul!”💕🙏

My sweet dear Aunt Dennie was such a special lady. She gave so selflessly to care for others often overlooking her own needs. I remember when visiting  her as a teenager  with my parents she always offered something to eat. If there wasn’t anything prepared she would fix something. I think that trait ran in the blood of the Redding girls. She was always so kind and caring towards me when I was around her. She will be missed but her legacy will live on in Elaine. Rest In Peace Aunt Dennie. You were greatly loved. 

Denny was such a wonderful woman. She watched both of my children from the time they were first born until they were old enough for school and then watched them after school until I got off work. They loved her so much and called her Nanny just like her grandchildren. She loved them as if they were her own. I will never forget her kindness and love for them and the love she had for her grandchildren. She will be missed. Prayers for her whole family.

Such a sweet, humble lady. My prayers for you all .

Graveside Service

Mrs. Davisis survived by one son, Ronnie Davis of Booneville; one daughter, Elaine Roberts of Booneville; five grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Woodrow Davis, six sisters, four brothers and two great grandsons.
