Agnes Mildred Starrett

She was born in Rawdon to the late George and Annie (Fenton) Rosley. The love that she felt for her children, 9 grandchildren, Paul (Judy), Jeffrey (Annette), Jennifer (Chris), Ross (Tanya), Lisa (Dan), Christopher (Lindsay), Ryan (Krista), Matthew and Sarah, 19 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson was shown in her face every time she saw them. Mum worked at the Red Cross and then at Revenue Canada, she was a devout Christian and the oldest member of the United Memorial Church, also life time member of the U.C.W. She was known to all as the greatest hugger. She loved to knit and was still knitting mittens for family and Brunswick Street Mission.

She bowled until she was 92, and then started bowling with Susan on the Wii at Caritas Residence, Mount St. Vincent, which she called home. At the age of 95 Mum met and made wonderful friends there. She loved to play Skip Bo and was so happy when her friends Mona and Isabel came for a game.

She was a special lady and will be missed by all that knew her.

She is survived by her daughter, Elaine (Floyd) Shatford, Fox Point, son George (Anne) Starrett, Bedford and sister, Frances MacMahon, Calgary.

She was predeceased by her husband Russell, son David, two infant granddaughters, and sister, Margaret.

A very special thanks to the staff and sisters at Caritas and all the people from Victoria Hall for all the love they showed Mum.

Visitation will be held at J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive Halifax on Monday, August 31st from 6-9 pm. Funeral service is Tuesday, September 1st at 11 am in United Memorial Church, 5375 Kaye Street, Halifax, Rev. David Hann officiating. Burial will be in Oakridge Memorial Gardens, Sackville, NS.
