He was the loving son of Carol Capello and stepfather Paul Capello, Jr. and the late Richard Gerbrands. He is also survived by his sister Theresa Jensen, and brothers Christopher Vaughan and his wife Katie, Nicholas Vaughan and his fiancée Samantha Steen, Jack Gerbrands and the late Paul Gerbrands.
Richard is also survived by his loving companion of many years, Diane Lamore and her daughter Diana Lamore. Richard was also the father of Joey Gerbrands. Richard also is survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Richard was a graduate of South Shore Vocational School . He was a self-employed painter. He enjoyed his passion for biking and being with friends and family. His sense of humor and kindness endeared him to all who knew him. Richard will be sadly missed.
A celebration of his life will take place at a later date.
