She was born on May 13, 1928 in Washington, DC and was the daughter of the late Hurtha Ira and Mary Elizabeth Johnson Dulaney.
Madeline was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with all of her family, crafting, reading and was an avid Washington Redskins fan.
She is survived by a daughter, Sandra E. Shipe and husband, Joseph, of Keezletown, a son, Harry Davis of Staunton, daughter, Francie Davis and boyfriend, Thomas Montgomery, of Delaware, a daughter, Sherri Stanhope and husband, Alan, of Tennessee; a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren; a brother, George Dulaney of Waynesboro; a sister, Ella Ferrell of Maryland; and her dog Frisky.
She was preceded in death by a son, James Davis and her life companion, John Rice.
Honoring her wishes, she will be cremated and a service will be announced at a later date.
