Umeyo T. Brown

Shreveport, LA- Funeral services celebrating the life of Mrs. Umeyo T. Brown will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 7, 2011 at Hill Crest Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Brown passed away Sunday, July 3, 2011 on the day that would have been her 55th wedding anniversary. She was born March 13, 1933 in Nagano-Ken, Japan to Mr. and Mrs. Takizawa.

Mrs. Brown moved to America after meeting her husband while he was overseas in the U.S. A.F. She left everything behind to begin her life as a new bride in a foreign country! She loved to cook and would feed anyone who walked through her doors. She also enjoyed fishing. But most of all she was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend, who will be missed by all who knew her.

Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Russell Brown; and her parents. She is survived by two sons, Peter Brown and wife Lisa, Michael Brown and wife Frances; seven grandchildren, Katy and Daniel Brown, Farah Golden and husband Michael, Brandon Sirman and wife Hanna, Dylan, Jacob, and Ashley Stanley; six great grandchildren, Kyler and Keegan Golden, Chaz Windle, Elijah Clanton, Kate Stanley, and Bella Stanley, along with a host of extended family members and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Mrs. Brown’s grandchildren, Katy and Daniel Brown, Farah Golden, Brandon Sirman, as well as Michael Golden and Kathy Carisle.
