Mrs. Lucy LaMarr Guyer

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, September 28, 2018 at Emerywood Baptist Church, of which she was a member, with Reverend Dr. Timothy Peoples officiating. Entombment will be at Floral Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Guyer was born August 1, 1924 in Guilford County to the late Everett Lee LaMar and the late Maggie Alice Farrington LaMar.

She was a graduate of Jamestown High School and Guilford Business College. Mrs. Guyer retired September 28, 1990 as bookkeeping manager and secretary for U.S. Furniture Industries with 37 years of service.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ray Oniel Sechrest whom she married December 18, 1943, her second husband, William Travis Patterson whom she married April 5, 1947 and her third husband, Charles Grayson “Buck” Guyer whom she married May 25, 1996; one brother, Albert Ray LaMar and one sister Doris LaMar Wall.

Mrs. Guyer is survived by a step-son, Dr. Charles Grayson “Chuck” Guyer, II and wife, Dr. Ruth Ward Guyer of Jacksonville, North Carolina; grandsons, Charles Grayson Guyer III and Jarvis Griffith “Griff” Guyer; niece, Janice LaMar Davis and husband, Jacky Davis; nephew, Donald LaMar and wife, Cheryl LaMar.
