Pamela “Pam” Sue Kyle, age 76, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2019 in Houston, TX. She was born June 1, 1943 in Atlanta, Georgia to Gordon and Doris Jobe, baptized on April 10, 1955 and confirmed on June 5, 1955. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandma. Growing up, Pam lived in Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Louisiana and Oklahoma. Her fondest childhood memories involved attending Vacation Bible School every year and getting to walk to school. She graduated from John Marshall High School in 1961 then attended The University of Oklahoma Nursing School where she aspired to be a nurse. However, she found herself becoming a Certified Dental Assistant. In 1982, after 15 years in the medical industry, she moved the family to Texas and made a career change. She began life in retail as a deli/bakery manager with Winn Dixie and later retired from Sam’s Club. This was her true passion and calling. Her hobbies included sewing, ceramics, cooking and she loved to clean house. One of her proudest family moments was the celebration dinner after her final doctor’s appointment upon defeating esophageal cancer 10 years ago. Known as a Granny-nanny by her grandchildren, she loved them and her great-grandson. Her most special memories were at the beach and time spent at family get-togethers during the holidays or watching OU football and the Houston Texans. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. Pam was preceded in death by her parents Gordon and Doris Jobe, brother Marcus Ray, and daughter Wendy Gail. She is survived by her daughter Brandi Rae Norris (David) and son Marcus “Marc” Sandford Kyle (Amy); grandchildren Amanda Pereles (Trent), Preston Kyle, Ainsleigh Norris and Addison Kyle; great-grandson Alexander “Zander” Pereles; brother Gordon “Chris” Jobe, and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Pam’s life will be held Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 10am at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Houston, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church-Keep the Promise Campaign or The American Cancer Society.
