Charles "Bill" Finton, 89, of Huntington passed away on Friday May 31, 2024 at the V.A. Hospital in Fort Wayne. Bill served his country in the United States Army as an M.P. during the Korean War prior to being medically discharged. He then spent his career working as a truck driver for over 30 years for Food Marketing in Fort Wayne. Bill was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Bippus.
Bill was born on June 28, 1935 a son of the late Augusta and Vera (Logan) Finton
He was united in marriage to Betty Baker on February 15, 1975 in Huntington. His wife survives.
Additional survivors include 3 daughters: Nancy (Dr. James) Truitt of Huntington, Connie (David) Buzzard of Huntington, and Suzette (Tom) Tallman of Huntington; a brother: Jim (Ruth) Finton of Fort Wayne; a Sister-in-law: Janet Finton of Huntington; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and two sisters.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday June 5, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, located at 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington IN 46750.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday June 5, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. immediately following the visitation at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel.
Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Bippus.
