Helen Caffey

Helen Youngblood Caffey, 95, died Monday February 6, 2012 at St. Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson. Funeral services will be held at 2:00p.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel on High Street. Visitation will begin at 1:00p.m. with interment following the service at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson, MS.

Mrs. Caffey was born April 5, 1916 in Ethelsville, AL. She was a longtime resident of Columbus, MS. She graduated from the University of Mississippi for Women with a major in science and a minor in art. She taught science in high school at Duck Hill, MS where she met her husband. After he came home from overseas, in 1948 during World War II, they moved to Jackson. She worked in the office of Field Co-operative Association which was a student loans foundation. She retired from there after 30 years of service.

Only survivors are nieces and nephews.
