Jack D. Fortune Jr., 61, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2013 in Jacksonville, FL. He was born October 19, 1951 to Jack and Rosie Fortune Sr. in Jacksonville, FL. He was an avid fisherman and dog lover and loved to go fishing with his wife. He also loved his home and everything in it. Jack loved to watch westerns and Perry Mason. He absolutely loved his Florida Gators. Jack is predeceased by his mother Rosie Fortune and is survived by his wife of five years Deborah, two step-sons John Brown, Tariq Mclendon, one step-daughter Jessica Walton, two brothers William Curtis Fortune Sr., mother-in-law Hannah Davis Holmes,Terry Ray, one brother-in-law John H. (Ruth) Davis, one aunt Daisy Moran, one grandchild Knoxx Walton Mclendon, one nephew William Curtis Fortune Jr., one cousin Deborah Hunter, as well as a host of close friends and acquaintances. Arrangements under the care of Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at 10:00 am at the West Jacksonville Baptist Church, 5634 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205.
