John Calvin Winn

John C. Winn, age 68, of Independence, MO, passed away on July 1, 2016. Visitation from 6-8PM on Wednesday July 13 at Floral Hills Funeral Home. Graveside service at 9:45AM on Friday July 15 at Higginsville Veterans Cemetery. John Calvin Winn was born in Kansas City, MO, at Conley Hospital on November 6, 1947, to Thomas J. Winn Sr. and Mattie Anne Winn (Rodrique). John graduated from Blue Springs High School in May 1967. He was a Vietnam Veteran in the U.S. Army. He was a hard worker at many jobs over his life. He worked for M.A.C. Company under Ray Perrin and Mickey. John enjoyed watching the Royals and Chiefs games, Nascar racing, and WWE Wrestling. He grew tomatoes, cucumbers, and green peppers. He grew beautiful gigantic sunflowers from seeds and planted very wonderful flowers for his sister Becky. He liked to go to the Isle of Capri and Ameristar with his brother Richard and his sister Becky. John was preceded in death by his parents Thomas J. Winn Sr. and Mattie A. Winn; brother Thomas J. Winn Jr. He is survived by his sister Rebecca Elizabeth Winn of Independence; brothers Terry Lynn Winn and Richard Dale Winn of Independence, Michael Clayton Winn Sr. of Kansas City, MO; sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
