She was born on August 4, 1925, in Jersey City, NJ, daughter of the late Charles and Alma Christenson. After completing her education, she married the love of her life, Alfred Gorawski in 1949. In 1972 they relocated to Westmoreland where they continued to raise their family.
Doris held much pleasure in caring for her family. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and raising her sons. Gathering with family was always a joyous time for Doris. She was a long-time member of the Westmoreland Union Church and volunteered at Maplewood Nursing Home for many years. Doris was a social butterfly and had many local connections including her involvement in Spares and Pairs.
Doris will be dearly missed by her sons: Chuck Gorawski and his wife Natalia of Walpole, NH, and David Gorawski and his wife Cindy of Tampa, FL; four grandchildren, Brian John, Lisa, Michael and Heather; two great-grandchildren, numerous friends and the incredible staff of Maplewood nursing home that cared for Doris greatly and had become family.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Alfred Gorawski, son Brian “Butch” Gorawski, and brothers Arthur and Carl Christenson.
A memorial service will be held Friday October 20th at 4:00 PM at Fletcher Funeral Home, 33 Marlboro Street, Keene, NH.
