Marc Vincentelli Shivers III

Marc Vincentelli Shivers, III, age 54, of Cartersville, Georgia, passed away on October 27, 2017.

Born October 8, 1963, in Thomaston, GA., Vince graduated from North Springs High School, Trinity Pawling Preparatory School, and the University of Georgia. Vince worked at Shaw Industries for 25 years. He was a devoted husband and father, an avid outdoorsman, accomplished gardener, and ardent animal lover (rescuer).

Survivors include his wife, Christine McKinney; children, Maxwell Vincentelli Shivers and Mollie Frances Shivers; mother, Frances Fulghum Shivers of Atlanta; sisters, Christen Shivers and Amy Shivers Weick (Brian); and nephews, Marc, Charles, and Teddy Weick; Andrew Vita, and niece, Emilie Vita. Vince was predeceased by his father Marc Vincentelli Shivers, Jr.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 1, from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the home of Frances Shivers, 570 Cambridge Way, Atlanta, Georgia. Memorial service will be 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 2, at St. Teresa's Episcopal Church, 5725 Ford’s Road NW, Acworth, Georgia.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Vince’s name to Etowah Valley Humane Society at www.etowahvalleyhumane.org or 36 Ladds Mountain Road, Cartersville, GA 30120.

Arrangements under the direction of Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, Kennesaw, GA.

Only known you for a short time, as my Son's Brother-in-Law but I feel as though you were a genuine good person, Father, Husband and great Lover of the Outdoors!
It is in that way you took my Son, Brian, under your wing to show him all the enjoyments of an introduction to the great outdoors.
He did, thru you encouragement, maximize activities under your tuteledge to introduce to him and his Family how much excitement could achieved thru: Camping, Fishing, and overall Activities that you shared together with your own Family alongside his!
Now your skills are, no doubt, arranging Heavenly Activities for your encounters together with new acquaintances.

Christine & The Shivers family, Our heartfelt condolences go out to you and your family. Vince was a great friend that married a great friend (Christine). Stephanie and I enjoyed the times we spent together as young families. We will cherish the memories of Vince and wish the best for Christine, the kids and the Shivers family. With Love!
