David Michael Brewster

David earned a Bachelor degree in electrical engineering and then a MBA from Purdue University. In 1971 he married Shirley Hoover. Together they raised a daughter, Amy. David was employed by Delco for more than 32 years, retiring in 1999.

Early in their marriage, David and Shirley would vacation in North Dakota to help with his mother’s ranch, then later in life they began traveling to other national parks, David’s favorite was Zion National Park in Utah. He also loved to golf and together they would visit Myrtle Beach for time on the course in the sun. As the grandchildren came along, they became his life. David was very involved with the grandkids and loved spending time with each of them, going to all of their extracurricular activities and having them over every weekend. Family was the most important thing and they all relied on one another. His sudden departure from this earth will impact them all greatly and he will be missed.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Mark Manyhorses.

David is survived by his wife of 48 years, Shirley; sister, Sharon Manyhorses; brother, Wayne (Lil) Brewster; daughter, Amy (Larry) Netherton; and grandchildren Mercedes, Trenton, Slater and Callie.

According to David’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service, but a private family remembrance service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bona Vista, PO Box 2496, Kokomo, IN 46904.
