Vegas was a blast! I couldn't check the phones for a quarter, but that's just because they aren't around anymore. I carried your handkerchief around; and won a few hundred on the craps. Never played poker- you were the champ of that game. I try to emulate you, stay humble and strong.

Uncle Joe always had a kind word to say about everyone.  He was a loving and fun uncle.  I'll always remember trying to beat him at those card games!!  Love you, Uncle Joe.

Uncle Joe was everyone's favorite and he had the remarkable ability to make everyone believe they were his favorite. Strong, kind, generous, loving, warm and funny. These are just a few of Uncle Joe's many wonderful attributes. The world was a better place with him in it. Uncle Joe, you will be forever in my heart.

Joe has been my parent's and my neighbor and friend for more than 30 years.  I will miss him more than words can say. He was the person I went to for advice.    We both had stage 4 cancer and talked a lot about death.  I have happened to beat it for 11 years, Joe was not that that lucky.  He wanted to go to heaven and be reunited with his loved ones.  I miss you Joe.  Remember I love you...   Penny.

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal...Joseph Anthony Susanno lived a remarkable life, one that inspired many people! He pursued many endeavors diligently, and always rose to meet a challenge. I will miss his perspective on life and his sense of humor. I will miss the warmth he extended to our family and everyone he knew! Grayson, Alivia, Gary, and I love you sooooooo much! RIP

Joe Susanno lead a storied life. He kept a lot of those stories to himself but those who met him knew him as a master plumber, a commercial fisherman, a WWII veteran, a Red Sox fan...the list goes on and on. I met Joe towards the end of his life and knew him simply as "Grampie."
Grampie was the name given to him by the people most special to him, his grandchildren. It lived on through each generation that followed and always suited him. At first it seemed like a silly name that a toddler would give to a grandparent before they could speak properly and that very well may have been the case. But I soon realized looking through the eyes of my wife and those who loved him most that "Grampie" described perfectly the man who made us all smile, helped us all when in need, and above all, lived and died for the family.
My son was born in the last year and no matter how difficult a time Joe was having he would light up every time he saw that baby.
I have a million and a half stories about him and his memory will live forever in my home. Above all, I hope my son grows to be half the man he was.

I am so proud to have been the granddaughter of Joseph Susanno. I was encouraged by his strength everyday.  His presence in the room was always enough to make me smile. Just knowing soon there would be a joke to make me laugh or a story that would inspire me.  My "Grampie" will not be forgotten.  His memory will live long in my heart and those same jokes and stories will be shared with my son.

Grampy, you were the only person I know who could carry on a conversation with anyone, about anything, at any level....Including a 3 year old. You always brought humor to every visit and left us all with a huge smile on our face at something that only you could say or do. Most people barely know their great grandparents, but my 3 girls thought the world of you grampy and will carry on the games you taught them and the funny little sayings that are now their own. I thank you for being exactly who you were.

Joe was the glue that kept our family together over the years. I can't remember a family event that he didn't attend. He taught me how to work, fish, and love my family. I looked up to him in every way. Words can't express the impact he had had on my life. I treasure the time my children and I had with him. Rest in peace Grampy. Say hi the Mom, Gramie, and Steven for me. You left behind a legacy of love, kindness, and respect

We will all miss the Joe "the Plummer" Susanno. He was my personal hero, and no words could give him his due. Rest in peace Grampy,  dance with Mom for me.

Joe.....the most considerate, kind, sweet man I knew. You were always full of good humor and made everyone you met smile. You were also the best "plumber" I ever met. Yes. We will all miss you!

Joe was my Father In Law and one of the best friends I had over the years. He was a strong individual that treated me like a son and I hope he knew that I always tried to treat him like a father.

Joe was just the sweetest man. His kindness to me will never be forgotten. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.
