When Grace Divine Cuenca Timillar-Cruz walked into the room, those in her company felt energetic and enthusiastic spontaneity. This was just one example of who Grace was and how she impacted those around her. Grace was a clever and gregarious person who always sought out the finest attributes in other people. It was as if Grace wanted to share all of their experiences, revel in their lives, and celebrate their discoveries. Grace was tireless and had boundless enthusiasm that would serve her well throughout her life.
Grace was born on November 8, 1963 in Quezon City, Philippines to Presentacion and Juan Timillar. Grace was raised in Quezon City with her four siblings. She had an older sister, Mabel; an older brother, Edwin; a younger sister, Blessy; and a younger brother, John. While some who knew Grace might describe her as an idealist, her friends and family understood well that Grace was always in pursuit of life’s endless possibilities and opportunities available to her.
On April 3, 2002 Grace married Eduardo Cruz Jr. at Silver Bells Wedding Chapel in Reno, Nevada. Grace was tenderhearted and sensitive, and showed her constant concern and fondness toward her family. Grace was a natural and creative parent who was willing to provide her family with all sorts of new and interesting experiences. For Grace, being a mother to her daughter, Estephanie, was a particularly enjoyable and pleasurable part of her life. Her family was rounded out by her Pomeranian mixes, Kenji and Kira, who she was best friends with for 13 years.
Because Grace loved to have a broad variety of activities in her life, she took advantage of the opportunity to pursue numerous hobbies. She loved to cook and bake for everyone she loved. She was also interested in learning Korean, and even traveled to Korea, as well as Japan.
Grace Timillar-Cruz passed away on July 21, 2020 at Mountain View Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada after fighting a brave battle against cancer for 17 years. She is survived by her daughter, Estephanie; her sisters, Mabel and Blessy; and her brothers, Edwin and John. Services were held at Palm Southwest Mortuary.
There was always a certain style and inventiveness to Grace. She was a dynamic, self-expressive person who was forever looking to celebrate the endless possibilities life had to offer. She had a knack for being clever, creative and witty, and for others, was a joy to be around. While she was often fiercely independent, it seemed as if many others looked to Grace for inspiration, leadership, wisdom, and even courage. Grace was always more than willing to share life’s experiences with her loved ones.
