William J. Dunne, of Fairless Hills, died on Friday, June 10, 2011 at Chandler Hall in Newtown. He was 74. Born in Philadelphia, Mr. Dunne was a long time resident of the Rhawnhurst section of the city before moving to Fairless Hills 3 years ago. He was a Detective in the homicide division of the Philadelphia Police Department retiring in 1987 after 32 years of service. Mr. Dunne was the beloved husband of the late Theresa M. Dunne. He was the loving father of Mary Theresa Dunne and son-in-law Michael Smith, Martin Dunne, Diane Dunne-Knauth, Theresa Dunne and the late Maureen Dunne. He will also be sadly missed by 5 grandchildren, his brother Martin Dunne and his sister Frances Amore. Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, June 18th, from 8:15 until 9:15 a.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown. His funeral mass will follow at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Church. Rite of Committal will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
