Bernice Benningfield passed away in North Kansas City Hospital on Monday, August 3, 2015. She was born in Beryl, West Virginia on May 9, 1940. She married Howard on December 17, 1959. She worked at Miller’s Restaurant then Long’s Restaurant and also at a nursing home in Liberty. Throughout her life, Bernice was an extremely generous person who was quiet in nature. She loved being outdoors and growing her flowers, watching the birds, and loved hearing from the kids and grandkids. Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; son, Richard Dale; parents, Carl and Agnes Hanlin; and brother, Gilbert. Bernice is survived by her son, David and wife, Deann of Kearney, MO; daughter, Julie Yanez and husband, Florian of Liberty, MO; daughter, Linda Deaton and husband, Ron of Casstown, OH; and daughter Connie Cole and husband, Wayne of Shawnee Mission, KS. Bernice is also survived by the following grandchildren, Jordan and Adriel, Cassandra, Ashely, Brooke and Ben, Randall and Austin, Blake, Devin and Taylor.
