John "Jack" Carl Bedore

He leaves his wife of 58 years, Lois (Waters) Bedore, seven sons, one daughter, fourteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many close friends.

Born and raised in Chicago, the son of Leverne and Monica (Buzinskas), Jack was a lifelong resident of Chicago and the western suburbs.

After graduating from Gage Park High School in 1953, Jack attended the University of Illinois where he graduated in 1958 with a degree in marketing. He met his wife, Lois Waters, at the U of I, and they were married in 1958 at St. Gall Roman Catholic Church in Chicago. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1958 to 1962 as a First Lieutenant.

After the Marine Corps, Jack returned to Chicago where he started his career at the Chicago Board of Trade.

Jack had many loves: his wife, his children, his grandchildren, his family, his friends. He also had many passions: fishing, golfing, telling stories, working on crossword puzzles.

Jack joins his parents and his siblings, Robert and Joyce, in eternal rest. Affectionately called “Papa” by his immediate family, Jack will be greatly missed by them all: his son Mark and his wife Tina and their children Brant and Alex; his son Chris and his wife Leann and their son Brian and his wife Laura and their children Colin and Garrett; his son Jeff and his wife Nancy and their children Aaron and Grace; his son Cliff; his daughter Jacki Krause and her husband Russ and their children Reed, Cliff and Erica; his son Scott and his wife Becky and their children Rachel and Rory; his son Matt and his wife Jackie and their children Paige, Hope and Tristan; his son Adam and his wife Karen and their son Blaize.

Visitation will be Monday, March 28, from 4PM to 8PM at the Blake-Lamb Funeral Home in Lisle. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10AM Tuesday, March 29, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Lisle, interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or USMC Toys for Tots Foundation.
