Henrietta Rice

Henrietta Rice, 90, passed away on Monday March 22, 2021. She Was born on April 7, 1930 and raised in Highland Park. She graduated from Old Louisville Girl’s High School in 1949, was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, and an accomplished seamstress, artist, and china painter. Most of all were her paintings on canvases which adorn family and friend’s homes. She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Rice, Sr.; parents, Jess and Thelma (Pension) Burnett, brothers, James Sharp Burnett and Edgar Lee Burnett; sisters Geraldine Hawkins and Daisy Burnett; and a granddaughter, Lauren Arnold. Left to cherish her memory are her son, John E. Rice, Jr. (Brenda); and a daughter, Vicky Arnold (Carlton); former daughter in law, Charlyn Rice; 3 grandchildren Christopher Rice (Becky), Courtney Poole (Nathan), and Dr. Alexandria Arnold; 3 great grandchildren, Carter and Harper Poole and Foster Rice and her little dog, Shawn. Funeral Services will be held at 1 pm Friday in the Southern Chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd. with interment to follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
