Delmas Lee Moore

Delmas Lee Moore, 79, of Axton died Saturday, May 12 at UVA Transitional Care Hospital in Charlottesville. He was born in Franklin County, (Henry) VA. on September 7, 1938, to Thomas Lemon Moore and Minnie Lewis Moore Young.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Kidd Moore, and three brothers, Jimmy, Elmas and Eddie Moore.

He is survived by his daughter, Sheila Moore Turner (David); two sons, Tommy Moore (Cindy) and Dale Moore (Melissa); two grandchildren, Bryan Moore and Brittany Moore Cioffa (Tom); step-grandchildren, Joshua Durham, Kayla Osborne, and Hayleigh and Nathan Turner; a great-granddaughter, Madison “Tootie” Hazelwood; step great-grandchildren Justice and Bella Cioffa; a sister, Shirley Ashworth (Garland) and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at McKee-Stone Funeral Home in Martinsville from 6 pm to 8 pm on Wednesday, May 16 and other times at the home. The funeral service will be Thursday, May 17, 2018, at 11:00 AM at McKee-Stone, officiated by Bro. David Hatcher and Elder Kenney Bowles. Interment will follow at Roselawn Burial Park
