Richard Earl (Rich) Rector, 83, passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 22, 2020 in Granite Falls, Washington. Richard was born November, 8, l936, to Albert E. and Margaret (Stevenson) Rector in Denver, Colorado. Richard attended Horace Mann Junior High in Denver and graduated from North High in Denver in1956.
Upon graduation, he worked for the Rio Grande Trucking Co. as a driver. In November 1959,
at the start of the Vietnam War, he was drafted into the US Army and served in Germany for 2 years and 3 months and was honorably discharged in February 1962.
After being discharged from the Army, he worked for the Rocky Mountain Arsenal from l967 to1969. Richard then was employed by United Parcel Delivery Service, prior to being hired by the United States Post Office in l969 where he worked tirelessly -- rain or shine-- until his retirement in 1998.
Richard married the love of his life Patricia Enderle on May 14, 1966 in Denver, CO and they lived most of their married life in Arvada, CO. Rich and Pat enjoyed hosting many family dinners and picnics. They especially liked attending classical concerts and plays at the Arvada Center plus numerous road trips in the western United States. In June 2016 they moved to Washington to be near their daughter Cyndi and son-in-law Vince Krajicek and grandsons.
Richard was a very kind and loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed coin collecting, football, especially the Broncos, and bowling.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Patricia Rector, daughter Cyndi (Vince) Krajicek of Granite Falls, Washington; grandsons Jeremy and Ryan Lucero and David Krajicek, Granite Falls, Washington; brother Albert (June) Rector, Denver, Colorado, sister Peggy Muro of Arvada, Colorado; sister-in-law, Jeannie Rector, Canon City, Colorado; aunt, Georgia Muro of Jamestown, Colorado and many nieces, nephews, cousins and loving family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father Albert E. Rector, mother, Margaret Rector Muro, step-father Joseph M Muro, Jr. and brothers Robert E. Rector and Joseph M. Muro III.

His graveside service will be Monday, November 2, 2020 at 11 a.m. at the American Legion Cemetery in Granite Falls, Washington. Arrangements entrusted to Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home, Marysville, Washington.
