Ella Anna Kaatz, age 97, was born March 24, 1922 in Seymour, WI, to Albert and Ida Jeske. She passed away on June 10, 2019 at the Jones Family Care home in Mesa, AZ. She was the youngest of a family of 5 children. She was raised in a God-fearing home, where she was taught values and respect for God. At the age of 15, she embraced her love for the truth of God and was faithful to that choice. They had the privilege of the fellowship meeting in their home for many years.
She worked in Neenah, WI, and while there met, and was united in marriage to Gerald Kaatz, on Dec. 23, 1947. Together they spent most of their years in Appleton, Wis. She spent her time raising 5 children, and later she worked as a nanny, for some of the neighbor children. In 2003, they moved to Swanton, Ohio, to be near family. In 2009, after her husband and daughter Carol's, deaths, she moved to Mesa, AZ with her son, Forrest. She spent her last 2 1/2 years at the Jones Care home in Mesa, AZ. She will be remembered by her quiet, gentle, and kind way with people, along with her love for crocheting.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ida, and father, Albert; sisters, Olga and Hilda; brothers, Robert and Otto; husband, Gerald; daughter, Carol Ernsthausen (husband, Gary) and (daughter-in-law, Iris Kaatz). She has 2 daughters, Kristine Kaatz of Mesa, AZ, and Diane McMeeken, (husband, Collin) of Kelowna, BC; 2 sons, Phil and Forrest Kaatz of Tucumcari, NM. She has 10 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
