Gordon D Fitzhugh

Gordon D Fitzhugh (88) from Mesa, Arizona, returned to his heavenly home on March 5, 2019. He was born in Manassa, Colorado. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various positions within the church. His favorite was Family History. He was a Korean War veteran while serving in the U.S. Navy. He met is lovely Eternal companion while living in Albuquerque, New Mexico. They had four wonderful children (three sons and one daughter) who gave them nineteen fabulous grandchildren, and so far, eleven great grandchildren. He really loved his family.

He loved the outdoors including spending time in his garden and with his animals. He also enjoyed painting.

He is survived by his lovely wife, Effie, children Gordon (Faye), Gary (Linda), Dale (Celeste), and Karen (Mike – deceased), all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a viewing on Thursday, March 7, 2019 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Melcher Mortuary Mission Chapel, 6625 East Main Street, Mesa, Arizona 85205. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 8, 2019, 10:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel located at 1315 South 24th Street, Mesa, Arizona 85204. Internment will occur immediately following the service at San Tan Memorial Gardens at Schnepf Farms 22425 East Cloud Road, Queen Creek, Arizona.

He will be greatly missed by his family, and friends.
