Yanetsy Agramonte (Janet) received her angel wings on January 13th, 2021, after an almost 2-year battle with cancer. The second child of Caridad Cedeño Agramonte and Eduardo Gonzalez, Ms. Agramonte was born on May 28, 1976. Upon leaving her native Cuba for the U.S. in 1980, she was adopted by her stepfather Sergio Agramonte.

At only 44 years old, her life seems to have been cut short far too soon, but her life was truly one to be celebrated. Janet loved to laugh and make others laugh. She loved to make jokes and play pranks even at herself, as long as it got a smile out of you. She enjoyed sports, dancing, singing, music, hanging out with her friends and her family. Though she had no children of her own, she was the best aunt, always spoiling her niece and nephews. Ms. Agramonte was devoted to her patients in the hospice care unit of Vitas, Jackson Memorial Hospital, Mercy Hospital and other area care centers for the terminally ill where she worked as a nurse.

While in high school Janet was captain of her school’s tennis team and played on the softball league. In college, she studied nursing and helped make those she cared for in Hospice care feel loved and accompanied in their time of need. She made countless friends throughout her life. Always the center of attention and the life of any event, Janet was great at making friends, who will always remember her fondly for being the friend who was always there to cheer them on. Ms. Agramonte lived life her way, by her rules and her dreams, she was a carefree spirit. Her generosity, warmth and love made all who knew her feel comfortable and supported. Now, she is surely sharing her zest for life in heaven with all our loved ones who passed before her. Her battle with cancer was fought bravely until the very end. Her faith in God and his promise of everlasting life comforted and strengthened her. Yanetsy Agramonte will live forever in our hearts.

Ms. Agramonte is survived by her mother, Caridad Agramonte, her sisters Elsa Agramonte, Carolina Ayerdis, Liza Jopes and their husbands. Also, by her niece Mia Perez-Agramonte, her nephews Zak and Max Ayerdis, John Elijah Agramonte-Jopes III, and her dear friend Nancy Abraham as well as her beloved cat Toby. Her laughter and joy will forever brighten our spirits and bring a smile to our face when we remember her bubbly, fun, and beautiful personality.
