Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, Charlotte Madeline Burton Ramsey, completed her earthly journey and passed away into the loving arms of her Savior and her beloved husband G. Milton Ramsey on August 26, 2017. Charlotte was born January 12, 1926 in Santa Monica, California, the daughter of Claude Monroe Burton and Louisea Bell Thiriot. She grew up in California and Utah. She attended high school at East High in Salt Lake City and it was during this time she met and married her sweetheart and eternal companion, Milt, on June 24, 1942. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on June 12, 1944.
Charlotte had a good life and spent as much time as she could with her family. They were her most important accomplishment and she loved each one of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren with all her heart. She had five sisters and each of them were equally loved by Charlotte.
She had many talents and activities she enjoyed doing. She knit each of her children and grandchildren a Christmas sock with their name on it. It was a gift of love and each sock was knit with tender care for each person. Besides knitting she loved to crochet and she was a gifted seamstress. She loved to take classes to further her knowledge in many different aspects of crafts and home repair. She was a wonderful cook and her family loved the get-togethers and dinners that were given.
Charlotte and milt spent time in service to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved her Savior and knew of His love for her. Besides the many calling she held she and Milt served together in three missions. They served their first mission as a genealogy mission to New Zealand where they filmed records for the church database. They served another mission shortly after they returned from New Zealand to Australia doing the same thing. Their third mission was a stake mission that lasted a year and involved their attendance in each ward in the stake for six weeks each, teaching the importance of serving missions and helping them to know how to prepare to serve. They loved their missions, loved to serve, and met many people who became lifelong friends.
Charlotte is survived by her loving daughters; Renee’ (Ralph) Horlacher, Sharlyn (Royce) Peterson, Cathy (Steve) Stucki and a son; Craig (Teri) Ramsey. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, thirty two great-grandchildren with one more on the way, and three great great-grandchildren. Sisters Elenore Saathoff, Claudia Beck, Caroline Earl and Ruth Ridgway. She is also survived her dear friend and sister-in-law Lucille Workman. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Milt, her sister Thelma and a grandson Ryan Horlacher.
