Keri Privette Wetherington

Keri Privette Wetherington, 35 years old, was welcomed into the kingdom of heaven on May 17, 2020 in Charleston, South Carolina at The Medical University of South Carolina after complications from brain surgery. She was born to Jeff and Kitty Privette of Indian Trail, North Carolina on July 17th 1984. She was surrounded by her husband Ryan Wetherington, parents, and sister Kristin Byrum while in Charleston. Keri was one of a kind. Always finding ways to show kindness to others, she continued that in death through the gift of organ donation so others can live.

Keri completed her Doctorate of Pharmacy, Masters of Science Clinical Research and Masters of Business Administration from Campbell University. She attended University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and was a Varsity Cheerleader. Keri married Ryan Wetherington in 2009 in Charleston, South Carolina and started their life together. She worked as a Pharmacy Manager for Harris Teeter while being a mother to her two beautiful children, Wilson (5) and Leah Katherine (2).

Keri was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and aunt. She devoted most of her time to caring for others and ensuring that everyone was happy. Keri long suffered from Celiac and Crohns disease. Despite her afflictions, she was selfless and world class. Known for her nurturing ways, she had an uncanny ability to know when others were suffering and worked to help ease their pain. Through connecting over coffee, handwritten cards, home baked pies, perfectly wrapped gifts, or a listening ear, Keri was the friend that everyone wished they had or aspired to be. Her classic grace and elegance was only outshined by her warm embrace and smile. Her heart was pure gold. Keri’s faith in Jesus Christ was extraordinary. More than a decade of suffering, her faith never wavered. She led her children to love Christ and inspired others to be closer to Him through her actions. Her greatest joy in life was taking care of her children and husband.

Privette (Paternal Grandfather), survived by Ryan Wetherington, Wilson Wetherington (Son), Leah Wetherington (Daughter), Virginia Heath (Maternal Grandmother) Clarence Ritter (Maternal Grandfather), Catherine Privette (Paternal Grandmother), Jeffrey Privette (Father), Kitty Privette (Mother), Mr. & Mrs. Aaron and Kristin Byrum (Sister), Mr. & Mrs. Laurie E. Wetherington (In-Laws), Mr. & Mrs. Michael T. Wetherington and children, Laura W. Blalock, and Catherine J. Wetherington.

The service will be a private service due to Covid-19 and a celebration of life will follow at a later date.
