

Joanne was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose life was marked by love, kindness, and dedication to those around them. Born on August 16, 1942, in Freeport, Long Island. Joanne resided in Redding, Connecticut for the last 60 years. She was an avid Bridge Player and a volunteer at the Ridgefield Thrift Shop. Joanne dedicated her life to family, friends, and service to others. She will be remembered for her compassion, kindness, resilience, as well as for the simple, meaningful moments shared with loved ones. Whether through playing bridge, traveling, or volunteering.She made a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Joanne Raymond is survived by her two children, daughter Jayne Sterk and her husband Christopher Sterk of New Milford, CT, her son, William Coward Sr and his wife Cindy Coward of Easton, CT.; four grandchildren, Emily, Katie, Jack, and Matthew; one great grandchild, Eleanor; as well as her sister Marilyn Avartin and brother Raymond Zender and his wife Hollis; and many loving nephews, nieces, cousins, and relatives who all meant the world to her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 13th at Lounsbury House in Ridgefield, CT between 2pm to 5pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of their choice in honor of Joanne.
Though Joanne is no longer with us, the love and memories shared will remain forever in our hearts.
